My Life as a Corporate Goddess Newsletter
Greetings Everyone!
Ever since we launched the website I’ve had a lot of
women ask what inspired me to write this book. So, I thought
that a good way to start was at the beginning, when I
received a call from the heart.
Best Wishes and send this to at least three heartfelt
friends,
Jane Rosen
A Call from the Heart
Inspiring laughter
One of the most important things I’ve learned in life is
that a good sense of humor can get you through. If you are a
woman working in corporate America you know exactly what I
mean. In those hallowed hallways of never-ending gray
cubicles, a good laugh is a rare and precious commodity.
My sense of humor was tested time and time again
throughout my career in film and television
production, marketing and public relations. Face it, when
you are consistently the only woman in the room, you better
find the humor.
One night, a few years ago, I was burning the midnight oil
developing the marketing plan for my new business. I sat in
front of my computer, reflecting on my life and my work,
when some really funny stuff just started pouring out of me.
It was like a hilarious call from the heart, and the good
news is that I was able to pick-up. I wrote and laughed for
hours that night and began to share bits of it with
friends. Those dear friends have cheered me on, and what
began as a funny reflection on women in the corporate world
grew deeper as women entrusted me with their stories and
experiences.
So, there you have it:
My Life as a Corporate Goddess
was
born late one night. It came to me as a call from the heart,
to inspire laughter, empathy and insight for women. It is my
joyful gift to women who work, lead and celebrate the
Goddess within themselves and their sisters around them.

Goddess Story
Meet
one of the corporate goddesses
featured in the book
Janet Hanson – Goddess of Networking
After a 14-year brilliant career with Goldman Sachs, and
notably, the first woman in the firms’ history to become a
sales manager, Janet Hanson bravely went out on her own. She
founded Milestone Capital Management in 1994, the only
women-owned investment adviser in the United States to
specialize exclusively in institutional liquidity
management.
And then, in 1999 Janet fulfilled her dream and founded 85
Broads, a totally unique, global network that, as of this
writing, numbers 7000 current and former Goldman Sachs
professional women. A creative play on the Wall Street address for
Goldman Sachs located at 85 Broad Street, 85 Broads has
become a model for other business alumni networks, and was
cited for its “best practices” by Catalyst.
Check out her new book,
More Than 85 Broads: The Power of
Building a Network to Inspire and Change Women's Lives and
Careers at Amazon.com.
Some women enter the world as a Goddess, some grow to
become a Goddess, and others remain clueless for a lifetime.
